Although he's famed throughout the ceramic art world as a man who makes cups — literal cups, and abstract sculptures based on cup forms — Ron Nagle's work in a show opening today at James Kelly Contemporary is not about cups.

San Francisco an Old Reliable Bar and Grill is lovable, stable and reasonably priced
Long established and well regarded by locals, the San Francisco Street Bar and Grill does what it does very well. It reminds me of an eccentric, lovable friend, rolling along year after year, happy in its own universe. The menu, which remains essentially unchanged since the restaurant opened, offers sandwiches, salads, pasta, some heartier cafe-style fare and a couple of Southwestern dishes. Why mess with success?

'Schmucks' More Painful Than Funny
"Dinner for Schmucks" begins with this fantastic, hilarious montage of dead and stuffed little mice being meticulously dressed in finely crafted, fancy outfits, then positioned in boy-girl pairs. In one coupling, the two mice are riding a tandem bicycle. In another, they're on a merry-go-round. The best might be a boy mouse juggling three flaming tennis balls, held aloft by a wire, while his little stuffed girlfriend stands watching with a tiny fire extinguisher.
